SPORTS DAY! EVERYONE'S A WINNER!!!!

Thank you to all parents,  the PTA and the teachers for amazing support and hard work.  It was another wonderful day for Coedpenmaen primary school!

Dear Parent/Carer,
Firstly, I would like to thank our PTA team and supporters for organising an incredible Summer BBQ. Thank you also to all of our families who supported this event. It was a great success, everybody enjoyed and I have been told that the PTA have raised around £1500!!!!!! WOW!   Diolch pawb! Thank you everyone!

Balloons
We’ve had a few exciting emails today from people who have found our balloons. Here they are:
“Hello, I was fishing off a creek on Benllech beach; Anglesey; when I stumbled across a small blue balloon trapped in a cove of rocks. It was balloon no. 68 from your race.”
“…the tag and writing was burred a bit from the sea water. I found this balloon today whilst I was beach cleaning at the black rocks, Monreith…Dumfries Galloway (SW Scotland).” (no number given)
“Hi. I found balloon no. 24 on the beach 2 miles towards Castletown from Port St Mary on the Isle of Man this morning.”
“It didn’t get blown too far. Pontycymmer, Bridgend.” (no number given)

Mrs Pugh’s challenge: I wonder if any children can plot these places on a map and bring it into school? All efforts will be rewarded!

Year 6 Prom
We wish everybody a fantastic evening on Wednesday and hope that Year 6 enjoy this special event. However, we need to remind all that full attendance before and after the event is essential unless a medical appointment card is produced. Failing this, an unauthorised mark will be issued.

Sports Day – Thursday 9th July – At the school field.

·          Key stage two Sports day will take place at 9.30am.
·          Foundation phase Sports day will take place at 1.15pm.

Your child will need to wear their school PE kit. i.e. a house-coloured t shirt (red, green, blue or yellow) or a white polo shirt  and dark bottoms, leggings or shorts. Hair will need to be tied back and all pupils will need a bottle of water to keep them hydrated. Please keep an eye on the weather: if it’s sunny, please apply sun-cream and send a hat to school.

Health and Safety
I cannot stress enough how important it is that parents do no cross over the track (or walk around) to see their child. Other pupils will become distressed and it is a serious health and safety issue. Please show your support by remaining on the parents’ side of the track at all times! Diolch!

Refreshments
Refreshments for the adults will be provided by the PTA and are for the audience’s consumption only. Please do not buy your child (who is taking part in sports day) any refreshments. Pupils do not need to bring any money with them as the PTA are providing drinks and sugar free Freeze pops for all pupils taking part; They will have their dinner and snacks throughout the day. Again, thank you to the PTA!
Key Stage 2 pupils will all return to school after their sports day. However, parents of the Foundation Phase may collect their children (and siblings from KS2) after the afternoon session. Pupils will line up behind each teacher. Parents can gather in front of the teachers so that they can be collected safely. Please come to the front of the school to collect any KS 2 siblings.

Again, we thank you for your support and cooperation and we look forward to sharing another fun-filled day with you all!
Kind Regards,

Mrs Pugh
