ST DAVID’S DAY/ DYDD GWYL DEWI –
EISTEDDFOD
You will be aware that next Tuesday we will be celebrating
St David’s Day at school. The children
are welcome to wear Welsh costumes and will take part in a number of
competitions – writing, art, music etc. Each
child is in a ‘house’ with a cup awarded to the winning house. We will also be ‘Chairing the Bard’, for the person
in Year 6 who completes some outstanding creative writing.
This year, we would like to add to the sense of occasion by
including a ‘Welsh Cake’ sale. We would
be grateful, therefore, for donations of Welsh cakes which the children will
then be able to enjoy by bringing in a small donation which will be forwarded
to Bobath Cymru, a Welsh charity which provides specialist physiotherapy,
occupational therapy and speech and language therapy to children all over Wales
who have cerebral palsy.
Thank you for your continued support of the school and I am
sure the children will have a fun-filled St David’s Day.
